In recent months we have been piloting a new role within Sciensus called a Clinical Case Manager. This role sees consultants and patients having access to a single point of contact for treatment plans and service queries relating to patient pathway management.

The most recent phase of the pilot has been run in the Southwest region, with an experienced Specialist Chemotherapy Nurse leading a coordinated care team to support better communication and efficiency.

We are delighted to announce that this pilot has been a success with both patients and consultants providing excellent feedback on service quality and communication improvement.

‘Overall interactions/responsiveness of case managers and CEM has been excellent. Glad it is continuing.”
“I have been very impressed with the CCM team. It certainly makes working much easier having one point of contact.”
“My CCM has been fantastic, and they respond to my queries very quickly which is wonderful.”

“I just wanted to make contact to express my thanks your team, who have been amazing.”

We will now be expanding the pilot gradually across more regions as part of our investment in an overall improved experience for our service users. This pilot is part of a larger commitment Sciensus is making to improve the quality of our private cancer service.
