Benefits in receiving chemotherapy at home vs the clinic
An independent exploration of the patient benefits of home cancer treatment.
Sciensus commissioned a research project in 2023 to understand more about the experiences of patients who had received chemotherapy in different settings, and to investigate what factors drove their choices.
This insight identifies the potential barriers that prevent patients from receiving chemotherapy at home and how home-based cancer care could make treatment more accessible to a broader range of patients.
Crucially, the research suggests that those who receive SACT in a clinic are open to the idea of being treated at home. However, many of those who took part in the research were completely unaware that at-home chemotherapy was an option before beginning their treatment.
This infographic explores the key insights identified from our research, and explores how chemotherapy at home could be beneficial for some patients.
