Sciensus’ unique aseptic compounding pharmacy proposition
Sciensus’ aseptic compounding pharmacy service operates from a fully MS licensed unit using the latest technology and assurance practices. We deliver safe, sterile medications directly to patients’ homes as well as to hospital clinics to help the NHS and private healthcare providers improve access to treatment.
Patient demand for aseptic product continues to rise particularly within cancer due to raised awareness, better diagnosis and ever-growing new medicines to market. Then coupled with economic challenges and nursing resource across NHS and UK. Sciensus took this opportunity to improve access to vital medications by opening a dedicated aseptic compounding unit in 2020.
Our unit is fully licensed and makes use of the latest technology and assurance practices to aseptically prepare tailored medications for both NHS and privately funded patients. Many of these treatments go on to be administered to patients in their own homes thanks to our national network of specially trained nurses, but we also deliver directly to NHS and private hospitals to support in-clinic treatment.

What is aseptic compounding?
Aseptic compounding is the process of preparing sterile medications in a controlled environment to prevent contamination. It ensures that medications are free from harmful bacteria, viruses and other pathogens often at tailored or banded doses.
Aseptic techniques typically include specialised equipment, sterile ingredients and protective measures. It’s particularly important in the production of medications for patients with weakened immune systems such as those receiving chemotherapy or long-term intravenous therapy.
