John is a highly experienced executive with more than 34 years in the Pharma Services and Life Sciences sectors, including the past 15 years operating at Board level within private equity-backed organisations. While the majority of his career has been spent in CFO roles, he has also held COO and CEO positions, giving him a broad operational and strategic perspective across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
John takes a commercially and operationally focused approach to finance leadership. Rather than viewing finance as purely numbers-driven, he believes strong financial performance should be the outcome of effective strategy, execution and decision-making across the business.
Before joining Sciensus, John spent 12 years at Parexel and 17 years at Envision Pharma, including during the period when Envision was owned by Medco and Express Scripts. He subsequently helped lead Envision through a management buyout, during which the business tripled its turnover over an eight-year period, with approximately 75% of that growth achieved organically alongside significant international expansion.
More recently, John served as CEO of Qinecsa Solutions and has also worked as an independent consultant, advising Life Sciences start-ups on funding, market positioning and go-to-market strategy.
John lives in Findon, West Sussex, near Brighton, with his wife Linda, along with their dog and cat. Together they have four daughters and four grandchildren.
