Assessment Approach
Sciensus has assessed its accessibility in line with the W3C WCAG 2.1 A, AA and AAA standards. This has been done via external review.
Technical Specification relevant to Sciensus Intouch Mobile Application only
Accessibility of Sciensus digital products relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of firmware and accessibility settings on your mobile device or tablet.
- React-Native Javascript Library
- TypeScript
- HTML
Compatibility relevant to Sciensus Intouch Mobile Application only
Sciensus Intouch App is designed to work on iOS and Android phones, as well as iOS and Android Tablets. It is not compatible with Symbian OS and must be downloaded from the relevant App Store. It is not available as a WebApp.
Conformance standard
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. We strive for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance on the Sciensus Intouch App. In addition, we also exceed this in some cases and are working towards Level AAA success criteria. As a result of the platform being constantly in development, some areas may not consistently reflect adherence to this standard. We are working towards it and will do whatever we can to adhere.
Testing
We follow strict guidelines in our testing approach. These include, but are not limited to functional testing, compatibility testing, security testing, penetration testing and performance testing. Our approach is industry leading, and a heavy focus is placed on user experience.
We develop our platform in an iterative way, with stringent checks made during the development life cycle ensuring only the best possible experience makes it to our end users. Sometimes a known issue is released with a version of the app. This will be small and affect very few users. These will be listed in the release notes of the version of the app in the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store.
