Sciensus Intouch app launches injection site tracking to support patient medicine adherence
Sciensus partners with global pharmaceutical companies across Europe to deliver innovative support to enhance the care of patients. The latest update to the Sciensus Intouch app is an injection site tracking feature. Its aim is to encourage good site rotation for injections thereby reducing patient discomfort and enhancing medication adherence.
This new feature is designed to support patients who have been prescribed injectable medicines. A patient may choose to use the app’s popular medication reminder facility before selecting an injection site. Once previous sites are logged, the app will display the previously recorded injection site and encourage good site rotation practice. This will minimise local reactions and enhance comfort, making the patient’s treatment journey easier.

Benefits of injection site tracking for pharmaceutical companies
Maintaining long-term adherence to medications is a major focus for healthcare professionals. It is critical that patients take the appropriate doses at the correct times. By increasing their comfort when they do so, we can aim to ensure medications, are taken appropriately by improving the experience of each individual patient.
This injection site tracking feature directly supports pharmaceutical adherence programmes by encouraging frequent interaction with the Sciensus Intouch app. Features such as symptom tracking and treatment education help patients build a picture of their condition to share with doctors. This data generates actionable insights into patient behaviour, adherence trends and barriers to treatment which can support our partners’ evidence generation in support of new care regimes.
Immediate impact
Since its rollout in late 2024, the service has seen an immediate and rapid uptake. Nearly 18,000 patients have logged over 61,000 injection sites via the app. This highlights patient demand for straightforward digital tools that improve the injection experience and help them stay engaged with their treatment.
For pharmaceutical companies developing injectable treatments and HCP teams managing long-term conditions, the Sciensus Intouch app offers a valuable opportunity to enhance patient experience, improve adherence, and generate real-world insights.
