Sciensus announces chosen charities for next three years

We’re pleased to announce the Sciensus chosen charities colleagues will be fundraising for over the next three years. As part of our environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments, we are looking forward to supporting Mind, Metabolic Support UK and the Woodland Trust.

Working with organisations and supporting charities helps us make a significant impact and a real difference to their causes and people. We aim to build strong relationships, strategic partnerships, and corporate memberships through sharing knowledge, resources, volunteering, and awareness programmes.

As a mark of how seriously we take this commitment, Sciensus has appointed an ESG lead, Daniel Parkes. His mission is to drive forward our strategy with executive team sponsors Gordon Cox, Chief Operating Officer, and Jackie Reeves, HR Director.

Strengthening our commitment to People, Patients, and Planet

The charity plan set out by Sciensus for the next three years aims to build strong relationships with organisations that are important to us as a business. Doing so demonstrates our values, responsibilities, and continued commitment to our three charity pillars – People, Patients, and Planet.

We have chosen to support Mind, a charity that makes mental health an every-day priority. This way we can ensure our people can access help whenever it might be needed through better resources and support. Mind stands up to the injustices – in healthcare, in work, in law – which make life harder for those with mental health problems. Supporting our mental health is and will always remain a priority for Sciensus. This is the reason why we want to support Mind, who make a real difference when it comes to advocating for mental health and supporting those in need.

By working alongside Metabolic Support UK, we can help to raise awareness of rare diseases. This will make it easier for colleagues to learn more about Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMDs) and the patient experience in a therapy area we support.

Since its inception, Metabolic Support UK has strived to support those in the rare community, offering help in 195 countries worldwide. This includes the patients we serve, which is why we want to go beyond traditional fundraising activities. Over the next 12 months, ESG Lead, Dan Parkes, and Customer Success Manager, Tim Chaplin, will be working closely with the team at Metabolic Support UK, building relationships and raising awareness and donations.

In supporting the Woodland Trust, we can help to preserve our natural environment. This collaboration helps demonstrate our commitment to the planet by giving colleagues an opportunity to get involved in community work.

The trust protects ancient, veteran, and valuable woods and trees to stop the loss of irreplaceable habitat and carbon stores to preserve our natural heritage. Doing what we can to protect the planet is a key part of our ESG strategy, which is why we are now a corporate member with the Woodland Trust.

A bright future for Sciensus and supported charities

Through the support of these three charities, Sciensus aims to generate a positive impact within the communities we serve and give something back.
